Oceanside High School has existed on its current site since the dedication of the south wing of the building in 1955. The north wing was completed in 1963. Recent renovations have brought about the outstanding physical plant that now exists to serve the high school students and community of Oceanside. Currently utilized by more than 2000 students, 160 staff members, and dozens of auxiliary service employees, the school takes pride in its tradition of excellence and its ongoing accomplishments.

Students accepted to the top colleges in the United States. Last year's graduates are now at schools such as Boston University, Cornell University, University of Michigan, and Rice University.
A unique elective interdisciplinary, integrated program in English and social studies for ninth, tenth and eleventh graders. This course of studies received the Program of Excellence Award given by the New York State English Council.
A "state-of-the-art" library, media center technologically advanced, featuring an extensive collection of books, audio/visual materials and equipment, telecommunications and computer access, and multiple-purpose resource areas.
An extensive and comprehensive computer/technology program featuring extensive access to the Internet and computer utilization in classrooms and throughout the curriculum.
More than 50 co-curricular organizations ranging from academic clubs (Spanish, future scientists, mathletes) to service organizations (SADD, Key Club) to performing groups (thespians, chorus).
Our comprehensive and extensive athletic programs featuring more than 25 varsity and 15 junior varsity boys and girls teams.
A tradition and reputation as a school and student body that cares for and gives to others. We are recognized by the Long Island Blood Services as the #1 high school for student blood donations. Our participation in anti-bias, multicultural activities dealing with tolerance and enhancing human relations have been recognized as model programs.
