Saudia Mahamed has been appointed Director of Special Education- High School at the Oceanside School District. Previously, Ms. Mahamed was an Administrator of Special Education with the NYC Department of Education. In that role, she supported 30 NYC schools with all aspects of special education, including compliance, training, and parental support. Ms. Mahamed began her career in education as a special education teacher in Queens. She joined Oceanside Schools in September 2022. She earned her BA degree in Psychology from St. John's University and completed her Masters degree and Post-Masters School District Leader Certification at Queens College.  Ms. Mahamed looks forward to collaborating with staff members, students and families to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all learners in order to better support postsecondary outcomes. 


 

Tracy Murray has been appointed Executive Director of Special Education at the Oceanside School District. Previously, Tracy was an Administrator of Special Education in the New York City Department of Education. In that role, she supported over 80 schools with special education compliance and the implementation of specially designed instruction.  She has served the special education community for over 20 years, with her dedication to the field starting in her high school years at BOCES.  Her heart and studies remained in the world of special education where she continues to provide individualized school support to ensure provision of special education services for all students as per their IEP mandates and maximize student progress.  She joined the Oceanside Schools in 2021 as the Director of Elementary Special Education. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in  Psychology and Special Education from Marist College and continued her education at Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus to earn her Master's Degree and Leadership Certificates. She looks forward to progressing the Special Education Department in Oceanside Schools to ensure educational benefit for all students across the continuum of services.  


 

Dr. Kristin Lamparello has been appointed Director of PPS and Middle School Special Education at the Oceanside School District. Previously, Dr. Lamparello was the Director of Middle School Special Education and CSE Chairperson. In that role, supervised special education programming at the middle level and chaired all initial CSE meetings K-12.   Dr. Lamparello began her career as a School Psychologist at Oceanside Middle School in 2004.  She is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.  Dr. Lamparello looks forward to continuing to serve the Oceanside School District in her new role.
